Redeemer is a community of disciples that seeks to be the church and to be an embodied witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ in the city of San Francisco. Sent out to form a new congregation in May 2002, we have made our church home in the ethnically and economically diverse Bayview neighborhood since September 2003.

As a church family, we seek to actively live out the reality that we belong to one another. This takes practical form for us as we worship together, share meals and belongings, and serve each other. We are learning to rejoice with those who rejoice, to mourn with those who mourn, and to care for each other in the midst of sickness, death, and other challenges.

As a community we seek to express God’s heart in the places where we live and work, in the neighborhood of our church, and around the world. With a variety of outreach ministries, Redeemer seeks to be a community with a sense of mission that is nourished through worship.
