Hanami Hope, a new nonprofit organization, and the law firm of Laurie Shigekuni & Associates are pleased to announce a five-week internship program. From 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. we will learn about the stories and poems of Hiroshi Kashiwagi, a renowned Japanese American who turned anguished moments in his personal journey into thought-provoking reflections. We will hear from learned Asian Americans about how history forms personalities. Then we will share and reflect and create video clips to combat anti- Asian hate with humor and ordinary anecdotes.
From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for those interested in an optional legal track, we will learn about some basic estate planning and social service issues and provide outreach regarding new Medi-Cal laws to local community groups.
